The “Time Layer” Experience
This is a web-based 360° virtual reality tour that documents Hong Kong’s Sheung Wan district, a traditional neighbourhood undergoing rapid urban transformation. Featuring 108 panoramic photographs, the immersive experience guides users through iconic locations — from Sheung Wan MTR Station and the historic Cooked Food Centre to Wing Lok Street’s dried seafood shops, Tai Ping Shan Street’s heritage buildings, the Central Mid-Levels Escalator, and Tai Kwun. Integrated with AI-powered commentary, the tour provides historical and cultural insights at each location. This project aims to digitally preserve disappearing streetscapes and promote awareness of Hong Kong’s vanishing traditional communities.
